So I'm approaching 70-80 days of sobriety now and tonight I bought a nintendo 3ds which is a handheld gaming device for those of you who didn't know. It ran me a little over 200 big ones, which essentially is the amount of money I would have blown on alcohol/marijuana/and heroin. Opening the box, reading the manual, turning it on for the first time was such a rush and almost a high in itself! I think I could get use to having money from no longer doing drugs/alcohol to spend on other stuff!!

Well done and enjoy! Sounds like a good strategy, saving up the money you would normally spend on drugs and alcohol and buying yourself a gift.

I used to be a tech\game junkie (when I have the money) I still try to revamp my PC every now and then to keep up with some video games.

It is so cool to get to really enjoy things now adays..

My first sober gift to myself was a brand new toilet, (kohler super flush was on sale for $200.). I was able to buy a lot of the needed fixtures for remodeling the main bathroom in my house for cash and take advantage of the sales, because i was not buying booze.
