Day one

This is actually hour one....

Spent the entire vacation, alone in my house and numb from vodka. Got nothing done on my list, just changed between drunk and passed out for four days. No more.

Have read many many of the stories here and can relate. This will be another of many times having quit (made it for five months last year) and I'm terrified that I will die if I don't make it this time.

I look forward to the inspiration from this site and being able to participate.

Going to work without having a drink tomorrow is also something to look forward to.....

-D

Welcome D !

Great decision.

Are you in a recovery program ? After many failed attempts at sobriety, I realized that I could not do this alone...

Best of luck !

Welcome D!

I had many day ones in the past as well. I knew that I needed to put as many possible supports in place this time if I wanted to be successful. I made an appointment at the chemical dependency unit of my insurance and saw a doctor and I am seeing a therapist every other week. I have gone to a few meetings, and attended a four week education class through my insurance. I have also been exercising and reading a lot at times I would have been drinking. Anna has a great thread on books if you enjoy reading.

Looking forward to seeing you on here tomorrow for day two!
