Somtimes it was you are willing to let go of and ready to accept
A year ago I was in such bad shape social services came to my door and asked if I would accept help. I said instantly yes. In minutes I was in ER for 2 days than inpatient for a month. I just surrendered in the deepest sense of the word, I didn't even have my glases or a change of clothing, I just knew if I didn't get out then I would never get out. There was no thought of pride or honor only survival. Like being air lifted out of the zone. It was just a point I got help or died. I think about that, the offer and the instant yes. `I could not do it on my own but I could not refuse it.

I was blind and wearing those PJ things, and took on too much the walking boss called me his Gunney but it helped save my life. I will not whine or cry I will do what it takes. Amazing grace

T'was Grace that taught...

And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...

This was bagpiped at my Dad's funeral and I was just listening to it and started to relate it to recovery keeping in mind I am an agonist Buddhist it can be heard in so many ways,

I truely believe it reached out to me. I was not capable of reaching out to it at that point. Why I thought of the song. It was a worried landlady and a servive agency and a treatment program that saved my life, why I give myself to service. If I can help one person they can pass it on. Why SR is important to me.

Well I am here today and grateful or the intervention. The people that were there from start to finish literally helped save my life but i really never want to see mystery meat swarming in gravy again. As Scrooge said There is more of gravy than grave in it.
