Thanks. I have been struggling w this for years. Would go long periods w no problem. Then Something snaps. Have been trying to understand it. Kidding myself all along that I don't have a problem

Dee74, I have tried to stop before. Gone to AA. Therapy as well. I have experienced some personal tragedies and thought if I worked on getting past them the drinking would stop. No such luck. I feel as if I have reached a new low

I also fear a life without drinking although I clearly know how much better off I would be if I stopped. Does not make sense

Never does, as long as you continue to drink. Alcohol clouds all reason and judgement and wisdom. Fear is the defense your addiction uses to keep you drinking.
