Anyone know of a sober getaway place in Virginia or nearby?

Can you explain what you mean by "sober getaway place"? Do you mean a place for rehab or a place you can chill for a weekend without being surrounded by alcohol?

If you're gonna try and get away for a weekend. Get somewhere further away. I spent a weekend a 100 or so miles from my house a few months ago just to chill out and get away from everything for a bit.

JTS - I've been in VA most of my life. What about the mountains like somewhere near Harrisonburg? Aside from JMU, that place is pretty bible belt-ish. Maybe a B&B? Or even up on Afton Mountain for a cabin, or down to Nelson County, no bars there. Just pick anywhere pretty and rural, that should do it.

We have spent some time in rural VA, near the mountains and found it fairly easy to avoid any type of bar/party scene.

Good luck and enjoy!

The outskirts of Williamsburg have some nice B&Bs. So much so that my wife and I took our 1 year old there to get away from things on 12/31/99 (just in case the sky fell or what have you). She doesn't drink and neither did I those several days.
