Hello,
Today is the first day of the rest of my life; and yes, I've said this in the past....
Sobriety has been something I've fought for over the past ten or fifteen years, not very successfully. I would like to be successful this time around....and I know that doing this all alone is not working out for me.
So I'm sad and full of self loathing, but I'm here because I want to change.

Welcome back. It is not an easy journey, your post sounds like you are ready to take the steps you need to remain sober. Do you have a plan for support?
SR is great but having as many sources of support is important too.

Welcome to the family! And congrats on deciding to live a sober life. With the help of my counselor and this site I've stayed sober for almost three years now. If I can do it, so can you.
