new to recovery

Hi, I'm a stay at home and I've never done this before. I just joined FB a year ago. Don't know really where to start so if I sound like an idiot, I apologize in advance. Everything from the weather to a commercial gives me an excuse to drink. I'm not able to stop. Needed some emotional support because I'm by myself with a 2 yr. old 24/7. So here's my first post.

Welcome. I am a SAH mom too, to older kids, now, 8 and 12. I am on day 2 this time around.

It is very hard with little ones and no break.

My first full day sober, I bought 'sober for good'. That book I see is listed in the reading list in this section of the forum. I found it to be very helpful and gave me lots to think about.

I also quickly made an appointment to see my Doctor and told him that I had a drinking problem.

He treated me and also referred me to a psychologist that specializes in addictions.

My wife found out my first day sober as well.

I hope you achieve sobriety, but understand that a lot of people need the help of others to get well, so don't let embarrassment stop you from getting healthy.

Glad you joined the family! You'll find so much help and hope here. I didn't have any particular reason for drinking, either - it's so good to be free of it. You can do this.
