new to recovery
Hi, I'm a stay at home and I've never done this before. I just joined FB a year ago. Don't know really where to start so if I sound like an idiot, I apologize in advance. Everything from the weather to a commercial gives me an excuse to drink. I'm not able to stop. Needed some emotional support because I'm by myself with a 2 yr. old 24/7. So here's my first post.

My first full day sober, I bought 'sober for good'. That book I see is listed in the reading list in this section of the forum. I found it to be very helpful and gave me lots to think about.
I also quickly made an appointment to see my Doctor and told him that I had a drinking problem.
He treated me and also referred me to a psychologist that specializes in addictions.
My wife found out my first day sober as well.
I hope you achieve sobriety, but understand that a lot of people need the help of others to get well, so don't let embarrassment stop you from getting healthy.
