Gratitude

So I spent a week in an ashram and apart from the mis-understanding that I thought karma yoga meant striking up various positions that would be 'good for me' only to discover it meant 'selfless service' (a week of cleaning toilets for me), it was fine. I arrived back home feeling fine only to wake up the next day feeling quite low . Today though i was very busy had lots of last minute clients and earned lots of much needed cash. Then I ended up listening to some classical music. As a child I grew up listening a lot to my father playing the piano, among other things a lot of chopin which I listened to today and it brought tears of joy to me. Joy that my father has recovered from a long illness and is still with us. Joy that I am experiencing such lovely happy childhood memories, Joy that we will all get to spend xmas together - basically everybody except AH, so no drama no chaos looms. Joy that I get to pass on some lovely memories to my son and daughter especially if we can get a piano for my father to play again To anybody in this aftermath chaos of life with an A, hang in there, all the horror, all the nightmares are only temporary if you can get away from them.

Thanks for sharing, cr. Often, we get so focused on immediate crises here, or answering very complex questions, that we forget to share these days when we feel true recovery - calmness, peacefulness, serenity.

When I remember to stop and acknowledge it, I go over to the gratitude threads in the "Gratitude" forum and post. ; )
