Trying something different
Good morning. I'm posting for the first time ever. I just had a birthday and every year I tell myself that some things are going to change but every year seems to be a repeat of the previous so I thought I'd make a first step by joining here.I've been reading posts here for quite sometime and can completely relate.I havent drank anything in two days and I know day three usually gets me.I typically drink 6 evenings a week and besides some mild anxiety this far im ok.Any tips to get me over the day three hump?

Welcome to SR Jess. I can tell you what worked for me. When I was in rehab at the end of my rope...They recommended I commit to doing 90 meetings in 90 days in AA. The support and the program worked...Almost 17 months later...I'm enjoying a wonderful life without alcohol...At least you know the option is there. This site is great for additional support.
Welcome to SR.
Yeah, two things.
One: Don't drink, no matter what.
Two: Quit lookin at day three as your "fail" day, or a hump to your recovery. I can't tell you how many posts I read where someone dreads a certain day, say Friday, or an upcoming weekend, anticipating a relapse, and guess what? They relapse. Self-fulfilled prophecy.
You got through day one and two by not drinking. That's how you get through every day from here on.
If you've been reading posts, you might have read about the concept of a recovery plan. Consider that a formal strategy to live a sober life. Start working on one.
