For over 20 years I hated coffee..
Good morning friends and family
Just a quick post today about a small change. All those years of drinking I never liked coffee. I guess if I would of put liqour in it I would of drank it.
I was one of those that just loved the tastes, and of course the effect was the goal. But I brewed beer, worked at brewery's, winery and all that .
I always had fine selections of liqours, wine , beers(well for a long time). Till the last several years and it was down to drinking Steel Reserves and Korski Vodka.
Anyways I just had a nice moment with myself this morning. Since I started going to AA meetings I started drinking coffee. Nothing new there for most
But 17 months later I was up making my coffee and getting ready to come here and do some gratitude writtings . When I realized how funny, I have 3 tins of coffee to choose from in my kitchen this morning . French Roast, Reindeer, Ethiopia.. (Thankfully I got the hook up, my mother works for Caribou Coffee .. LOL )
So the ritual still continues but in a good way.I used to love to play with drinking glasses, and play with my drugs.
I love this change in life and love to continue the growth and the journey..
Enjoy your day and keep living the dream and stay on the beam.
Good love , Inda

I am freakin' addicted to coffee. I used to drink a minimum of 2 large pots a day...now Ive cut back to 2-3 cups. It made my anxiety worse and I started not being able to concentrate. I LOVE my coffee though

I almost went into a panic with the power outage. And thought oh my god what am I going to do about grinding the beans. I use a french press so it was all good on the brew part.
And thankfully I remembered on one of my many moves I took a antique coffee grinder and pulled it and lo and behold it worked.. LOL
Drink up and enjoy the roast of life.

I love coffee too with different flavored syrups
in it. Almond Roca. Yum..!
I remember in early recovery drinking too
much coffee. It began with a large pot at
home then unlimited cups at all the meetings
I went to during the week and weekends.
Then.....I learned that too much caffiene was
a stimulant which wasnt good for my body and
caused me a health scare. It was then advised
to switch to decaf and all when back to normal.
Today, i moderate how much caffiene I put in
my body and listen to my body to let me know
when something is not right for me.
My gut feeling never lies.
Enjoy with moderation or what works well for
you for a more healthy person in recovery.

French Press is the only way to go! Got the mug/ press combo. Its great.
Im an Equal Exchange drinker myself. I buy in bulk so I can mix in half decaf. I was getting a little out of hand with the amount of caffeine I was taking in. Now Im down to one cup of half caf in the morning and maybe a cup at a meeting at night. Big improvement!

I love coffee now I am sober. I have really got into the world of coffee and tea
Making either is a bit of ritual but I enjoy it. Coffeewise I like Guatemala Elephant, Ethiopian. For Christmas I am going to treat myself to some Blue Mountain Jamaican
As for tea - well tea is my true love now - black, white, green, red, herbal, loose leaves or bags.......
Other things I have found out I like now I am sober: Orange Juice, Walnuts and Banoffee Pie - all things I swore blind I didn't like when I was drinking - crazy isn't it!!
