hi

Hi over the last few years my drinking has taken over my life.
I went to the doctors and he was very helpfull. I was suprised how many units i drank. I never counted before. It was around 17 a day sometimes going to 25. I now thats not much for some but its ruining my life.

Today is day 3. Last night was awful. Felt really nervous. I was shaking. Feeling dizzy etc etc.
But i have to sort myself out as i worked very hard to get my own house etc and now my self destruct button has been down for a couple of years

Welcome Boris- the physical stuff settled for me over week- it helped me to think of sobriety as an adventure- and it has been the greatest thing I ever did for myself

I think your right. It is an adventure.

It felt really strange not waking up at 3am worrying. That must of been the alcohol. I woke up 7am feeling good.

Hi Boris and welcome to the forums !

Sounds like you had enough. Good news, is that you do not have to drink again !

My suggestion is for you to get involved in a recovery program/group.

Many options out there, I selected AA.

welcome Boris

I hope you find AA helps - I also recommend you see your Dr when you quit - detox can be rough for some of us.

Hi Boris,

I hope the AA meeting works out for you, and as Dee recommended, it's always a good idea to see your dr before you detox from alcohol.
