Holy Mackerel!
Its saturday and I was up at 6:30 this morning!! AMAZING!!
Normally, right now I would already be drinking again to cope with the aftermath of drinking the night before. If there was not alcohol in the house, I would just lay in bed until I felt somewhat better (usually 4pm).
I want to say, THANK YOU, to everyone here at SR. To all the brave people who share their stories so I know I'm not alone and all their kind words and support have kept me going!
I have spent the past three mornings with my daughter (4yrs old), UP AND AWAKE, having a blast and being silly! Normally, we just lay around the house until "mommy feels better." In one of my first posts on SR, I said I wanted to be the mother who, "got up early" to take care of my children and see my husband off to work. Someone who had a "normal" life and did the "normal" things that adults should be doing (not to confuse normal with boring haha). I'm getting closer to that every single day

Hahaha! Yep, I completely agree! Not many leaves here because of a recent tornado but I love sitting on my new front porch sipping coffee and watching my daughter play her little heart out
Great job, Jen! Very inspiring post for all those who think they'll never find their way out of that misery.
I had to learn that being normal wasn't being boring, too. I always thought alcohol was making my life more interesting and fun. All it did was crush my enthusiasm and steal my spirit. Never again. Very happy for you.

Great inspirational post! I am at my third soccer game of the day and managed to squeeze in a workout between games. Tonight is the fall festival at my kids school, I like feeling present with them, and not in a rush to get home for a glass (bottle) of wine!!
