6 months today!

Hi guys,

Today is 6 months for me. I am so grateful for the changes that have happened in my life since ditching my failed plan for life and taking direction. I got a sponsor and have worked the steps. The results have been being comfortabale with myself and the desire to drink has been removed.

I am so grateful for AA. It has been the doorway I have entered to a new life. I have been coming to this site for a long time and have had many struggles. I am grateful that I am in a different place today than I have been in the past.

Sobriety / recovery is a daily process. It really, really is.

Yesterday's homerun's don't count in today's game.

In the morning I wake up and pray, I ask god to direct my thinking and actions. I ask him to reveal himself in a way I might understand. At night, I go through my day and do a quick inventory. Was I selfish, was I resentful, do I owe an apology. Many days, the answer is yes, but I deal with it and move on.

I look at 6 months as a beginning. I feel like I am running a marathon with no finish line.

Congratulations on the six months sobriety! I remember six months ago when you came back to SR....it makes me happy to see that you are sober and truly recovering. Best wishes.

Congratulations! I remember some of your first posts although I've been away for several of the months since then. It sounds like you are doing so great and that is inspirational to me.

( BTW, I'm about halfway there..... today is day 89 for me, and I went to my 90th meeting tonight!)
