Full of love and coffee... If you're thinking about quitting.

Hey everyone!!!
If you are reading this and deciding whether or not to quit. (itotallydidthatbeforeistopped) I have a secret for you...

DO IT!

I'm about 60 days sober, I know, seems like forever? yeah yeah, I have another secret.

IT"S REALLY NOT!

You know that restful sleep you remember as a child where you would knock out and sleep for 8 hours and wake up not sick?

I GOT THAT SLEEP LAST NIGHT.

I woke up and am having coffee, listening to music, lit an insense and am in complete love with life.

I know youre thinking, it has to be harder than that.. but it's not I drank every single day all day. I was bad... I went through withdrawl.. oh that scares you? yeah it did me too. totally worth it if you pull up your big kid pants and just do it. It's not as bad as spending the rest of your life doing what your doing.

Regret, sickness, depression and pain? Yeah, I know.. it sucks.

This is a chance to change your life.. your ONE life. Why waste away?

Start healing. It's a beautiful process... I'm healing.

I think I'll be healing for the rest of my life, and so will you.

It's worth it, believe and trust you'll be writing/feeling things like me soon.

I have along way to go, but i'm nowhere where I used to be.

MAKE A SCREENNAME! Be angry! Cry! Laugh uncontrollably! we'll love you till you can't love yourself.

<33 What would you tell people who are ready to take that leap? If you could tell yourself something when you first quit, what would it be?

That is an inspiring and encouraging message, Ragamuffin. Beautiful. I like the part about the Big Kid pants myself.

Well done.

Love this post-put such a smile on my face

I'd say keep an eye out for the moments of childlike enthusiasm and genuine laughter; it's not sunshine and roses all the time, but get ready to LIVE

Xx

Wonderful post. I am 51 days sober today and I completely relate. The sleep is amazing. And so is that feeling of serenity. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Love this ragamuffin! I'm fiftysomething days and feel the same way. I LOVE sobriety. Pink cloud or whatever, I feel great. I still get grumpy, irritable, angry, anxious, etc., but these feelings pass more quickly and are easier to handle sober, at least for me. I love feeling connected to a higher power, I love being able to help other alcoholics in any small way (giving rides to meetings) even though I'm newly sober, I love not feeling like crap all the time and being able to look myself in the mirror and not be disgusted and ashamed. It is SO worth it.
