Glad you are here. You are certainly welcome to read and post in any forum. Hope you get good responses to this. I just wanted you to notice that if you click on "FORUMS" in the upper left corner you will find some specific to "friends and family of substance abusers" and even one for suboxone. You may want to look in Those forums too.
You are not alone. Hope you find some peace tonight.

Hello Gnatalie! I am a mother of a 22 year old heroin addict. He was prescribed suboxone when he tried IOP a while back. He actually stuck with it for a few weeks, but it does nothing to help the mental part. what addicts need most is to feel responsible and accountable for their actions and that takes a commitment to recovery. Suboxone blocks opiates so if they try and use, they don't get high. Sadly, many addicts sell or trade their suboxone for their DOC. I recommend you get as educated as much as you can to addiction. It is not easy to kick opiates and as a fellow codependent Mama, I had to learn the hard way that my love was not enough. I hope your son is also going to attend meetings and counseling for the mental part and watch his ACTIONS, ignore the words.
Best of luck
