New but not new
New but not new
Attempted recovery previously but convinced myself I didn't have a problem, but now I'm back. Username is faith24 because the 24 hours a day I commit to my sobriety is what I want to focus on. My new date of sobriety is 10/15/12. I'm a new mom also and I work. I went to three meetings this week. Tired but getting by. Super busy and will post when I can.
Welcome to SR Faith, im not so much new to the rcovery scene. I'm new, been a very very rough road, But we can overcome this addiction. Just for today! Stay with us here, it can only get better
Welcome to SR faith!
I too had attempted being sober in the past, on several occasions.
It never stuck with me because I would either get bored or convince myself that tis time I could control it. It wasn't until I found an AA meeting that was a perfect fit for me and where I was mentally. One of the things I learned that hit home to me was this... When I tried to control my drinking, I couldn't enjoy it. When I enjoyed my drinking, I couldn't control it. I highly recommend AA, if nothing more, it's like therapy for a buck.

Welcome faith. I did that too - over the years many times I decided I could drink socially. I was never able to control the amounts I drank, or what would happen when I got drunk. It was dangerous for me to continue, and I had to stop all together.
