Almost 15 hours after last drink

with around 3 or 4 hours before bed.

I will NOT pick up the first drink today, even though I'm tempted to drown my sorrows to forget my remorse.

Argument in my head:

Addictive voice: "Just have a hair of the dog to take the edge off the guilt and dread."
Healthy voice: "You can get to bed free of alcohol tonight. You can stay safe."

Dawn,
it is hard at the beginning and the feelings of remorse can be unbearable but if you drink they will never go away and increase in intensity. But I promise you they will leave you if you don't drink. be strong and hang in there read as much as you can about the negatives of alcohol and the positives of sobriety.

All the best

i read a lot and that helps me waste time. there's a lot of good websites for wasting time too. reddit, Fark.com, stumbleupon, icanhazcheezburger to name a few. you'll be cursing me for hooking you on some of those!

Hi, CommunityDawn.

Hair of the dog always turns into a big monstrous beast that it you alive, so try to stay away from it just for tonight. Be angry, irritated, bored, cry, but give yourself and your body break from this poison.

It will be better soon. I am on my Day 6 now, and it is so good not be be 'bossed around" by wine or hangover.

Take care and have a sober weekend!

CD,

I know everyone is different when coming off alcohol, but the one thing I always have experienced is the sleep is so much better! Get a few days freeing your body and you will be amazed. The mental part is the hardest and will have to be dealt with, but you have to start somewhere.

Hope you had a great night sleep.
