Temporary Sponsor - I recently left my RA and need guidance through the steps.
Thanks to this forum I received relief from my recovering Alcoholic's mean behavior as well as some desperately needed information.
I have been trying to find a sponsor locally but everyone I asked couldn't for their own reasons. Working the steps is confusing me, I need someone to bounce ideas off of and I was wondering if anyone on this forum would be willing to be a Temporary Sponsor to get me through the first four steps?

Hello SilentScout, and pleased to "meet" you
If I may suggest that a really good temporary sponsor for the purpose of doing the steps can be found over here:
Friends and Family Step Study - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information
A lot of folks take the _group_ as the "sponsor". You get the wisdom of a lot people, focused exactly on your needs, without the worries of having to trust someone you can't see.

Keep asking and someone will step up to the plate. I asked quite a few people and got turned down and one day someone said yes and that was in 1988. I still have the same sponsor. I call him once a day. Keep on keeping on and it will happen. Good luck on your journey. Logo
