Made it through another day!
Made it through another day!
The evening was hard though I don't know what it is about afternoon/ evening but its so hard to get through! Ran to the market for a few dinner items and stopped and looked on the wine isle for a bit. You can't buy wine on Sundays in this town so that's good!!!! Its tough being a wino loser...can y'all see that big "L" on my forehead , Its practically beaming! Sigh....oh well, Day 7 tomorrow...GO team!
7 Days awesome! I wouldn't say you have an L on your forehead, more like a W if you keep this up! Sometimes when I'm out with friends we will walk through the beer aisle just to see whats new, not to buy... but when we get near the vodka and hard liquor they will joke with me and tell me to avert my eyes.
Evening are always the hardest (weekends, especially). But at least it's the end of the day and you're closer to another morning waking up without a hangover!
(And a week sober is a major accomplishment, so you need to tell that to the person who thinks they're a loser.)

Congrats on getting through the day lilgolden73.
I understand about the evenings. They are hard for me to. Even if I wasn't going to get totally trashed I would always end the day by having at least a couple of beers and watch some tv before bed. Just another of those habits that need to be broken and replaced by something more constructive.
Good luck on your continued sobriety.
And it sounds to me like you are winning not losing the battle.

My self esteem has suffered blow after blow, although its the least of the blows I've been hit with these last few years......I don't feel like much of a winner, but im trying!

I remember my first few weeks thinking about the childrens book! "The Little Engine That Could" sometimes just saying over and over I think I can, I think I can.
Thanks for the reminder and post.

Thanks this is hard on me...I have to tell my friends about the no drinking, they will probably, after disbelief...make me the dreaded DD...but I will do it with pride! Not anytime soon though!
Totally! Although my friends are mostly in their 40's...so none of us are all that wild and crazy and rarely go out together....another reason I wanna quit drinking...plain and simple...im just too dam old!
