New and unsure

I haven't had a drink in 5 days which is longer than I've gone in longer than I can remember. My head is filled with so many thoughts at once that I can't figure out even what to post here. I wish I could go to a meeting, but that's not possible for me with my schedule, so I'd really love to know about online meeting options. I work crazy long hours and am a mom to small children, so getting away is just never possible. Add to that the fact that no one knows I have a drinking problem, so no one can know that I'm trying to deal with it. I think most people would be shocked to find out about my drinking. (except you fine folks of course)
Only my husband really knows the extent of it, but he is a huge enabler and I think he's mostly terrified of what will happen to us if I'm no longer sick all the time and 'needing' him to take care of me. It's definitely scary.

Mainly I just wanted to say 'hi'.
I'm here. I'm conflicted. I'm scared, but also excited. I'm not ready to say that I will never drink again, but I'm ready to say that I'm not going to drink today!

thx!

Welcome! It does get better, it takes some time. You will feel better with each passing day. Intherooms has weekly online meetings.

Can your husband watch the kiddos while you go to a meeting? You will get a lot more support in person.

Hi Paks

I'm not in any recovery groups so I have no details or knowledge of online meetings, but I'm sure others from AA, SMART etc will be along with info

you'll find a lot of support here tho - welcome aboard!
