Thirsty Thursday....give me water and lots of it!
Its Thursday and my blender awaits one of my concoctions, I am more of a wine drinker, too old for liquor for the most part, yes I am pushing 40 and said I am too old for liquor...somewhere inside me the younger me is appalled!!!!! Anywho, the hospital called and needs extra help so I guess I will drink water and take care of the sickly! I have been getting alot of patients with alcohol related pancreatitis lately, and occasionally the extreme withdrawls, divine intervention im sure! Picking up shifts is out of my routine so here is to hoping I can stick with it and make new and healthier routines...not an easy task for this wino!

Wow lilgolden, that's so awesome you're volunteering like that. Being around such ill alcoholic patients must make you think pretty hard, huh? Those patients are really, really lucky to have you helping them!
"Thirsty Thursday," HAH! Being 25, this term is something i've grown up with. Not like I saved drinking for thursdays/weekend, as far as my alcholic brain was concerned, it was thirsty ANYday!

Just go in and do it!! I think we both know how good you'll feel when you finish and get home.
These actions are the little stones that make up the wall of sobriety!!

LOL..I have to chuckle at the kinda sorta part! I found it helpful early in sobriety to write a time line of my drinking. Starting with the first drink and ending the next day. It was my observation that the "enjoyment" of drinking was so short lived but the physical and mental pain lasted much longer. It took time but I learned how to love myself again, enough to stop killing myself. You can do this!
