I'm sure you know that drinking isn't going to help those guys. It certainly won't help you, either. You're doing a very humanitarian thing by passing out sandwiches to them. I'm sure they wouldn't want you to do anything detrimental to yourself.

I know sobriety doesn't cure insaniety. i will not drink though the desire ie there.

Instead of having a drink, which is destructive, why not do something constructive, like write a letter to the editor?

I was with the state for 25 years she made time I'm just talking Nevada small state and she always works.

Fitz - homelessness (sp?) makes me really sad.
I hate the indignity, the sadness, the bleekness of it all.

Every year I support a charity in the UK where for different sized donations you can buy 20 men a bacon butty and a cuppa on christmas morning, or a night in a hostel on christmas eve.
I don't know if that is the right way to go about things, I am not very politically minded or clever, but I just hope it makes someone feel slightly loved and warm and a tiny bit special.

Good for you! I'll keep supporting Shelter here in the UK. I hope even the smallest donations can help someone. I'd be gutted to find one of my family homeless.

Its hard because its homeless addicted et all. I am working with the state to change things but homeless don't vote. But maybe not a bad idea to empower them. I had one guy get pretty violent today but I think he was just out of it. I had to contain him and call for help but medics really don,t so much care for uninsured.
