Reasons for quitting drinking

1. I won't be having benders until 6am.
2. I won't risk losing my license the next morning.
3. Daughter will have discipline and routine. She will have a more present mother.
4. My soulmate will not have to disconnect from me.
5. My health will be improved.
6. I won't cancel important responsibilities after a night of drinking and will have a better chance of living up to my true potential.

The difficult parts about quitting drinking:
1. Alcohol is everywhere!
2. It's hard to change my current routine and associations due to ongoing responsibilities.
3. My decision to stay sober can change in an instant.
4. I'm having trouble letting it go.

My reasons against:
1) Habit.
2) I effing love to drink!

My reasons for:
1) I don't want to die, and I will if I don't quit.
2) I want to be in control of my life.
3) I want to be the one you can call to pick you up by the roadside at 4:00 am knowing I'll be sober.
4) I want to hold a good job.
5) I want a sane woman to have a reason to stick around.
6) I want to know what it feels like to be a part of civilized society.

I have less chance of dying is always a pretty important one. You gotta know everytime you go out and get loaded you get closer and closer to deaths grasp.

"1) I don't want to die, and I will if I don't quit."

That's a very, very good reason for quitting.

I don't want to die prematurely(either through drink related illness or accident) and leave my child without a mum

I want to continue to be sober so:

1) I don't die (I agree-pretty important one!)
2) My depression can have a good chance of lifting
3) I can keep my beloved teaching job, and be the excellent teacher I know I can be
4) To be a stable part of my amazing relationship
5) To be a good friend to those people who care about me
6) To be present in my family again
7) To have financial security
8) To be reliable
9) To carry the message to other alcoholics

Reasons to worry:

1) I am an addict- but addictions can be beat
2) I am a chronic relapser- but this could be the last time!

I have AA, God, SR, friends and my family to support me- sounds like a winning combination if I let myself but my sobreity before anything!

Thank God I am alive today and sober Just for today!
