I can see that....
Over the last 60 days I have learned:
My problems can be tackled without Alcohol
I can relax with a glass of water (or juice, tea, nothing)
Conversations can be remembered
I am capable of not drinking
My moods are not dictated by how much I drank the night before
A community of like minded people is essential If i want to remain sober
Support from my family is necessary
My routine is wholesome and I need routine for sanity
I am a better friend to myself
I can do this because i am doing it
I dont have to tell anyone because it really is nobody's business but mine
All forms of recovery and methods work as long as they are applied
It is my choice
I am no longer in the grips of obsession over alcohol
I have gained respect for myself
I can do the things that i enjoy (because I am not sick over alcohol)
I am a good person
My mistakes are sober mistakes
I can help others because i helped myself
The urges come and go. The thoughts to drink become few and far between. I know that reaching out here when I am "Feeling it" is the best solution. I am forever GRATEFUL for this community.
Here is to another day Alcohol free!!!!

( I love this little guy that swings around on a thank you stick. I smile everytime I see him. Yes, its a little blue smiling boy. In case you didn't know)
