Hello...

I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am new to this and am a little ashamed. Long story short, I am a 31 year old man with a major aclohol problem. My drinking has had a detrimental impact on my marriage and I am utterly tired of the embarrassment I have caused myself. Tonight, I plan on attending an AA meeting with hopes of finding a sponsor. I also want to start working the steps.

This is all new to me, so any advice you can offer is much appreciated!

Hello RPJ. I don't have much advice, but I feel your pain.

I am a member of NA and currently working the steps. Good luck. You will find that the people at the AA meeting you attend will be very understanding and welcoming. I'm sure you will find a sponsor very quickly.

Hi and welcome RPJ

I know well the despair of looking back at whats happened and realising how far we've let ourselves fall...but you've made a good decision in coming here - this is an awesome community - and another good decision in deciding to go to AA

This place is full of people who have turned or who are turning their lives around - it can be done, and it's great you've joined us

AA a good idea. I went for about 3-4 months and it helped me and I stayed sober for about a year. After that 1st drink I felt guilty as hell. I got out of program to soon. Just my experience. Good Luck to you as I know exactly what you are going through.
