SoberRecovery.com brought me to AA - Now sober 10 years!
I owe my life to the soberrecovery.com forums! Over 10 years ago, I got on the Internet to research "alcoholism." I knew I was an alcoholic, but wanted to find answers - I didn't want to keep living like I was. I didn't even consider AA until I read about it here.
After reading the posts on these sites by some very patient folk responding to my questions, I found myself pretty excited about checking out an AA meeting. The folk on here explained to me how it was going to be a safe place. So, when I did go to my first AA meeting, I didn't have any fear because of what I read here. And, to my delight, it was as good, if not better than I expected.
The first best decision in my life was to register myself here on this site. The 2nd was to walk into AA. The 3rd was to keep going. The 4th was to get a female sponsor and respect her direction and do the best I can with what she gave me - her time and experience.
I am extremely grateful for 10 years of sobriety- since 09-08-2002. Thank you SoberRecovery for opening the door for me.
