Hey all
So, I'm new here. Found it today browsing around.
Basically, been struggling recently. Was looking at a full 6-months clean this coming Thursday.
That changed last night and today is day-1.

Many of us have quit, then gone back to drinking, then quit - but eventually, you will stick with it. Look at every period of sobriety as a success, the more you have, the healthier you'll be, and eventually you'll win the battle. *hugs* Welcome to sr; lots of nice people here.

Welcome!
Would you like to prevent going back to using? I would assume if your here the answer is yes
Have you been involved with any groups or meetings?
It may help you as it as helped me and others to build up a tool box of techniques to prevent succumbing to the urges to drink or use.
What worked and works for me is building up a network of sober friends and learning from the old timers on how to stay sober as lifestyle.
I would strongly recommend trying a local AA meeting.

Welcome HappyG!
I'm sorry for your relapse, but glad you found us. You may have run into a blind spot, but you took action right away which is really incredible.
Keep reading and posting. You said you had 6 months "clean", which is something I hear more addicts say (as opposed to alcoholics)? Just wanted to let you know there's a forum here for substance abuse as well and you might want to check it out. The section we're in right now, Newcomers, is for everyone of course......

Hi HappyG. I once had 3 yrs. sober and started up again, so I know how you feel. I learned my lesson that last time - I was more out of control than ever, and knew I was headed for tragedy if I didn't stop. That's when I found SR, and not feeling alone anymore meant everything to me.
We hope you'll find the encouragement you need. I'm glad you didn't go off the tracks for as long as I did - you can get it right this time, and never have to suffer again. Keep talking to us.
