How do you start your day
I had coffee and finished watching the series "Saving Grace" on netflix, and browsed SR. Then made breakfast for my daughter and me and browsed SR. Texted a friend in recovery. Thought about going to an NA meeting but it's only 3 blocks away and is that really such a good idea. Canned it.
Now going to take a bath and resume my cleaning/organizing/SA donation pile project from yesterday.

This morning I got up at 8am (was woken up by my dog)... had a coffee (ahem... and a cigarette) Shuffled around for 5 minutes. Put on a load of washing (laundry) Went on facebook to check out my games (farm town & castleville) Took doggie for a short walk. Watched/played with my dogs little puppies (1 week old) came on SR... Even though it's cloudy outside, I was thinking how nice it is not to have a hangover on a sunday morning (maybe my new favourite day!)
It beats not being able to lift my head from the pillow & then spend the rest of the day trying not to throw up!

Woke up 6am for the dogs...tended to them for outside business and breakfast. Threw in some laundry, turned on old episodes of 90210, watched 2 episodes and fell back to sleep for an hour curled up with my doggies.
Just getting re-motivated now and heading out for weekly groceries and other errands.
Life, as I know it now, is simple but fabulous

I'm trying to learn to sleep in but can't. I get on line and get reading and my brain takes off. Rereading When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron. OK today I will share in the meeting. Makes me want to throw up already. How do people do it?

I have been starting my day with reading pages 86-88 in the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous. I have a notebook, and I wrote out the words, prayers, and directions in these pages.
I pray and meditate...I am not that good at the meditation yet. But I try to stop and listen. As Earl H., an AA speaker says, "It gets busy up there", in my head, and so to stop and pause takes concentrated effort and I have to remember to do it. Most days, I forget. I have things to do don't you know!
I come to SR, I make coffee.
I really find the outline in the book, along with my writings on the ideas in the book to be helpful for creating a manageable day.
Have a beautiful day

Sept in a little bit yay! Coffee, cigarettes (ugh), SR, Greek yogurt and berries, played with dogs, now going to read my daily reflection and clean the house! Dog walk later. So nice to not be drunk before noon, or not counting the minutes until I think it's ok to drink.

Stairs, reading can be helpful too. I don't post that much but I read a lot here.
Just starting out my day here. I've been having weird sleep patterns and weird dreams, so I usually have to give myself about ten minutes to wake up - sure beats doing it with a hangover though. Open up the blinds to let light in - often foggy, but today it's a beautiful sunny day. Weigh myself so I can note how I've dropped ten pounds since quitting. Small breakfast, vitamins, no coffee - coffee makes me anxious and is actually an alcohol trigger for me, so I do green tea. Next is to assemble my to-do list for the day and make sure I include something fun on it.

Cup of tea, zoom through posts and check all 18 ongoing Scrabble games on FB, more tea, read through SR, maybe post, more tea, shower, kids up, nursery and school. Home by 8.15 to be massively productive and have my house looking like something out of Homes and Gardens by 9.30.
The last bit is a blatant lie.
I have more tea and then a tidy up.
