1 week sober

I have been sober for one week today. Such a small thing, but it's huge to me! I feel so different than I did only a week ago. This morning was one of those mornings when everything that could go wrong did. Alarm didn't go off, overslept, my hair wouldn't work, I even backed into my sister's truck on my way to work. Argh! But you know what? It was OK. I wasn't hung over and I wasn't drinking. Things are going to happen. I'm going to have good days and bad but I feel like I can handle it all as long as I'm sober. And it feels SO good! Have a great weekend everyone!

It's all about getting used to the ups and downs of life and handling them sober.

Good for you and congratulations on one week sober!

Being sober for 1 week is NOT a small thing. It is a great accomplishment and you should be proud of it....

Sobriety gave me a new sense of freedom, absolutely love it.

Well done and congrats !!

Congratulations, ca! I agree - no matter what happens, there's no sense adding a hangover to it!

Nice job Ca! Isn't it nice to just deal with the stuff you have to without a headache and feeling like crap? It's so much easier!

Great Job on one week ca! Keep up the positive attitude because you are absolutely right "Stuff happens" and usually at the worst possible time. A positive outlook on things makes it so much easier to hadle it when it happens.

Yes, one week is a big deal so congrats to you! Great that you can feel a difference already. And everyone is right about stuff happening- what's important is how you choose to deal with it. Crap will happen but when you have to face it, it is so much better doing it without a headache and being tired from too much drinking the night before.

The first week is the worst, it gets easier after that.
