21 Days - That Was Fast
21 Days - That Was Fast
I'm pretty early into my sobriety. It's been 21 days but the time has flown by. I'm still adjusting to sobriety but I'm really enjoying it. The fog is still clearing and the dust is still settling but its been great. My weekends are much more productive now that they aren't filled with binging Fridays and Saturdays and sleeping off a hangover all day Sunday. I don't hang out with my old friends as much since all they do is drink to excess, but I'm slowly making new friends. I've noticed my craving for sweets declined a lot. Since binging can cause blood sugar swings I was always craving carbs but that's pretty much gone. Giving up caffeine has been a struggle though, it's been 21 days and I still have trouble concentrating and some fatigue. I almost reached for some caffeine today but I resisted. Caffeine is way more addictive for me surprisingly than alcohol. My brain wants caffeine BAD.

congradulations, well done, keep going. somes days I get really tired.....example a couple a wks ago spent all day asleep....almost. As regards coffee....maybe 5 or 6 cups per week. Some nights don't sleep so well - get maybe 5 or 6 hours (it was like that when I drank). But I still feel really amazing inside and outside. It's like a peaceful calm with a wave of strength that I am fighting this illness/addiction head on. I am on my 29th day and feel so freaking good.
