Fatigue after quitting?

I know I can't expect to be feeling perfect after only a week of quitting but I am excessively tired. I have been sleeping at night too which is great. All my other quits were laden with insomnia the first few weeks. I am not asking for medical advice, just wondering if anyone else felt tired after getting sober? I am thinking that I really did a number to myself these past few months and my body is healing...I have to see my Dr anyway for a physical within the next couple of weeks so if I am still feeling tired I will follow up with her then.

I had severe fatigue and also insomnia for quite awhile after quitting. Couldnt focus at work and i remember thinking if this keeps up i am not going to be able to function! But it improves and now that fatigue is gone. Keep going. The journey is not a straight line and each path is unique but if you just stay on it, the sea starts to part. It is amazing. Stick with it. Good job so far, i know it is SO hard at first. It won't always be that hard. Promise.

Stay the course, it takes quite awhile to get back to normal. Your body is healing, let it rest as needed. I'm two months into it and still feeling exhausted a lot of the time, but not all of the time so it's getting better. Way better than hangovers!!

I saw my doctor and was surprised to find out my Vitamin D count was low.

It seems with all the SPF that we use, we don't absorb the vitamins from the sunshine that we need.

Perhaps some fresh air, sunshine, and outdoor walks will help!

I am smashed by fatigue as well, which sounds silly because the past two nights I was able to sleep without interruption for the first time in ages on account of being sober, but I reckon it will take some time before I recover all the lost sleep...

Yup. For a long time after quitting. I'm starting to feel a bit more spritely now though, I think.

Yes I was exhausted with poor concentration yet couldnt sleep well despite the fatigue.
Honestly it took a couple months to clear totally. But it gets better and is worth it.
It helps me to remember it because it makes me want to never have to quit alcohol again.

Yes, in varying degrees after 6 weeks.
I have upped the anti with extra vites, eating well, plus gym work.
Come to think of it I felt sick when drinking too; would self medicate with the slops, lift a little, then worse than before.
What can we expect? I'm giving it time and a return to the grog just isn't a viable answer anyway.....................
