I think my "virus" is just sheer depression

Feeling sorry for myself untill I read this

“Why do you stay in prison
when the door is so wide open?"

That sums up a lot of years of alcoholism for me. I was afraid to venture out. Being drunk was safe like a self constructed cell. Now i have to live, love, lose, learn on life's terms. Scarey.

How true MycoolFitz. I found this read today and found it quite refreshing:

How to be depressed

Fitz,
as Dee asked, have you seen a doctor? Some depression is the chemistry of your brain, not a "oh get over it" problem. You can't think yourself out of it if it is a medical condition.

Yes been treated for years, its depressing. :-) Also GAD and PTSD. Some days are better than others. May go back on meds. Things could be worse, I'm thankful for being alive. I'm thankful for my SR family. I'm thankful for not being drunk. Without sadness how would I know joy. Thanks all.

I always come through. As the say you can only go halfway into a tunnel before you start coming out. I'm drinking Lifewater and listening to music and watching humor. And caught myself laughing at something

I have seen what a laugh can do. It can transform almost unbearable tears into something bearable, even hopeful.

I'll tell you what MycoolFitz,

even if one doesn't feel like smiling, if you force one out, no matter where you are or what you are doing or how sad you may be :>, the effect of the rush of endorphins to the brain is "almost" as good as the real thing...try it.
