Update :)
Hello all,
Guess its time for another update!
Jeez, it's almost been a year since I left my AH.
Not too much has changed since my last update. I got my own place in April. I have my DS and my dog, and now a cat in a 1BR apartment. It's not The Ritz, but it's big and nice enough for us. We're a happy little family. We all sleep very well.
Unfortunately, the divorce is STILL not finalized. AH is dealing with his EX who is trying to take as much of his rights with their DS as possible, and trying to stay out of jail after his 4th DWI. And he has admitted to dragging his feet because he doesn't want a divorce.
I would like to add that he has NOT ONCE asked me to stay. He relies on guilt trips, and somehow thinks one day I'll come to my senses. Lucky for me, I already did.
One thing I can say is that when I left, I was 100% ready. I have NOT ONCE looked back. I am so happy to be free of this horrible disease. Never again. Never.
The end is coming soon though. I'll be happy if it's over before 2013 at this point.
I am so much happier on a daily basis. I play with my DS, I paint and draw again! (I even set up a shop on Etsy to sell my art!) I run, I go to the gym 3+ times a week. I play outside with my boy and my dog.
I'm paying down debt and saving for camping and fishing gear and a kayak.
I'm living the life I want.
I have started looking at men again, and longing for that companionship. Looking forward to those things I never thought I'd have again. A first kiss, etc. Though, until the divorce is final, and the right guy comes along... I'm happy as I am. No more settling. Life is too short to settle for anything less than bliss!
I hope that all of you have, or will find happiness. I have been there. Suffering each day for the love of an A is not worth it. If they cannot beat it, please get out. It can be so much better. You are worth more than cleaning up after their latest binge, or late night worrying, or daily panic attacks, or worse. You deserve happiness. You deserve bliss.
I owe several of you a hug. You gave me the strength to live again.

So glad to hear how well you are doing. Thank you for the update. You are a strong woman! And I agree on the "Never again." Now I just have to figure out how to keep the bad ones out and let the good ones in! (I'm workin' on those boundaries!
