Finally through my 30 days.
I am waking up here on day 31. So far there have been good times and bad. I have done a few things to help me and I want to share those for two reasons. 1- to help others who might have a hard time getting started and 2- to remind myself whats working so I keep doing it.
1- I stopped drinking, sounds simple- but you can't be drunk if you don't drink
2- I went to AA - I truly think that everything else stems from here.
3- I made a commitment to make certain meetings. Doing this changed my pattern. I am a after work everyday drunk. Going to a 5:30 meeting helps me break that pattern. Believe it or not, they will not let you drink at those meetings.
4- I started reading. I am reading the Big Book. But also I am reading some literature. Again, this was about changing my pattern.
5- I got a sponsor. He makes me call him everyday. I don't mind it.
6- I am trying to look at my life though a new lens. This is a huge subject, but I am trying to get a lot back on track. This involved mostly Honesty, Integrity, and working on my prayer life.
I hope this helps someone else as much as it helps me.
Thanks, Outdoors
