It is my turn to beat you...soberbound!
Hello to all,
I am so happy to have found an online sobriety support group. I have wrecked cars, been kicked out of the Marine Corp, have a failed Rehab stint under my belt, been on anabuse, nearing divorce, and I have tried 'as many have', well over a hundred times since the age of 21 to quit drinking. I started at 12 and I am now 26.
Alcohlism has always won, but something happened last night and I knew that was the last time I could let alcohol control me, or I would lose the last and most important blessing in my life. I can NOT do it alone, I know that. It is also hard for me to get to meetings because I am my sons caretaker and live far away from supportive family.
So that is why I am here...it is day one...I know the most motivating, nothing will stand in my way day...but I will be detoxing alone, and I need this site to look at and remember those 4-7 days of detox are nothing compared to the hurt I did to get in this situation.

Dear tslavonne,
hello and glad that you found this site in time...
You sound as though you know what you have to do which is a fantastic start.
There is so much support here so ask away and read others stories.
You are still so young. You have time to sort your life out for yourself and your loved ones.
Stick around and let us know how you are doing.

Hi Tandi! SR saved me from a lifetime of drinking. When I came crawling in here I was drinking all day, every day. My life was in chaos, and I no longer had any control over what was happening to me.
Once I reached out and began to share here, I didn't feel alone anymore. Everyone understood, no one judged. We're so glad to have you here with us. Those terrible times can be a dim memory one day. You can do this.
