Well. . . that's all folks
In approximately and hour an a half I will have consumed my last alcoholic beverage. Detox starts tomorrow at about 10am. So many feelings and emotions at the moment.

Good for you islandlass!! Have faith in yourself, you can do this!! When your anxious & tempted, come on here, post & read as much as possible. It's definitely helped me get thru. Haven't had a sober weekend in years & years, am proud to say that this weekend was my first, and I feel GREAT!
There are dozens of the nicest folks you could possibly imagine who have gone through exactly what you are doing, and are pulling hard for you to make it. They are right here at SR. I hope that you will continue to post frequently and let us know about you and how it is going with you.
I have every confidence in you, IslandLass. It is all yours, all you need to do is want it enough to have it.

Good luck to you... I believe you are from the UK
I had detox in hospital, I got myself a bit sick, but I'm now living in soberland after quaffing about a bottle of vodka a day for too long. I'm so glad you are being supervised. I think I had a couple of nights quivery-jitteries, but I don't remember too much. All I know is that I'm glad to be sober. You will too. Stay here on SR as often as possible. Its the best place for support. Then you can look into recovery methods for future abstainence.

That's officially it. The last massive gulp taken by 22.01, not bad for a 22.00 stopping time (set by the specialist). Feel absolutely lost already looking at an empty glass and empty bottle. Thank you everyone for your comments, it's so encouraging. I don't know how well I will sleep knowing there is not a drop of alcohol left in my house after so long of always having something by my side. I will conquer it though.
