How can I erase a phone number from my memory?

by not using it and not reflecting on it. right now, you must exert your will over your addictive brain to not call it. there is no magic bullet to erase that number just as there is nothing to keep an alcoholic from pulling into the liquor store to buy a fifth to stash on their way home from work but themselves and their program. if you feel weak and are going to call that number, try coming here, calling an NA or AA number if that's the program you're going for or reaching for other tools in your sobriety tool box. it takes time, but you have to replace your old bad habits with new good ones. keep reaching into that tool box and keep filling that tool box with new tools.

I don't think we can forget phone numbers, really - but we can find all the support and encouragement we need to change our lives and the strength not to call them anymore
