Hello to All
My first day here and I just want to say Hi to everyone. I look forward to sharing and thus far I just had a relapse on Wednesday. I'm sober today and looking to find daily support. I don't mind AA/NA meetings but I find it easier to share within a comfort level of my own preference.
Welcome to both of you!
Livingtoday, if you don't mind AA/NA then I'd strongly suggest you use this support combined with all of us here at SR. That's what I did setting out to get sober...going into my 19th month
The face to face connection with others combined with SR was exactly what I needed to get me to where I am today.
Good to have you with us...you can do this.
Big hugs

Welcome LivingToday (and Jasmine)!
Glad you're here and have decided to get sober. I don't know if I'd be sober today if it hadn't been for this forum. Just knowing that support is here 24/7...... priceless!
Hang in there and take it a day at a time. It gets better!

Welcome!
I hear what you are saying about the comfort zone thing. I had a hard time getting myself to go to meetings at first. THen I realized that I wasnt even comfortable in my own skin. The only comfort zone I knew was unconciousness. After a couple of weeks my comfort zone became the meetings then it began to grow as I learned to live life outside of the meetings. I still struggle at times with an under-sized comfort zone, but the more I step out the bigger it gets.
I wish you the best on your road to recovery!

Welcome to both of you!! I found my recovery in a little of this, a little of that and a whole lot of SR
Here, I've learned about Buddhism, American Indian beliefs, AA/NA and AVRT. I took what I needed, left the rest and am coming up on 5-1/2 years clean.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy
