I heart people
I was watching Celeb Big Brother tonight and laughing out loud at Julie Goodyear.
It got me thinking.
I love people when they are themselves. No drink involved, no drugs, no party, no special occasion, no pomp and no ceremony.
I love people for how different we all are.
The fact that polar opposites can often become the very best of friends. It does not matter if we like different music or are not the same age.
That we have the ability to make others feel better about themselves.
I love how we all have different quirks.
Things that make us tick.
Being passionate about different things.
Problem solving in different ways.
I admire different qualities in different people.
I think mostly I try to like other people.
I like nothing more than being with a group of people sober and just spending time and chatting.
Be it friends, work colleagues or folk sat in a line at a bus stop. Often the more random, the better!
We can be so interesting to each other.
We can compliment or repel each other.
i just generally like rubbing along together quite comfortably.
I like finding out what makes another person loveable - their accent, their laugh, their response to issues, the way they tell a story or the way they understand the world. i like seeing what other people laugh at.
I never ever want drugs or booze to cloud this again.
I like appreciating people.
I appreciate that i have many, many people in my life who are enthralling to observe on a day to day basis.
Here at sober recovery we need to feel blessed that we have such diverse characters. People who love. People who can be stern. People who just want the best. People who need help. People who want to help. Perhaps best for me is people who can find humour in situations that at the time feel very bleak and hard.
I don't know what this post is all about but I decided to write it while making homemade soup!
