Grief

Birdgurl's list for how to get through the day after the death of A.

1. Breathe. Then pray.
2. Take a shower
3. Remember to eat something
4. Get angry for the waste of life and for leaving me here to take care of so many things.
5. Feel bad about getting angry
6. Remember he was a very sick man and he was tortured in this life. He is at peace now.
7. Breathe some more
8. Pray to HP for strength...again
9. Read from this group. Send healing thoughts to those in need.
10. Think - if love was enough none of us would be here
11. Drink water.
12. call his 80 year old Mom who has now buried both of her children from this disease
13. Pray again
14. Wonder when this hole in my heart will start to heal
15. Try to sleep
16. Know tomorrow will be a little better

Thank you for this. Some of these things are so simple yet I didn't do them after my AM died. Excellent thoughts. I have a #17 if that's okay?

17. Surround yourself with people you love and ALLOW THEM to comfort you. <--I had some issues with that so I wanted to put it out there. It's the healthy thing to do. ((hugs))

My fathers "cure all" was always to get someone a drink of water. I think of him whenever I am doing bad & I go get one of his cure all's. Some how a simple thing like a glass of water is soothing. Sorry for your loss ((((HUGS))))

I'm really sorry Badgurl for your loss. My AH (we were separated) died of an overdose one week ago today. I've posted my story here and absolutely feel saddened for your loss as well. Big hugs to you k?
