Hello!
My 16 year old son just came home yesterday after 53 days in a residential treatment. Marijuana, K-2, alcohol. Got him signed up today and have an assesment Monday for outpatient treatment. Going to his first outside meetin in the morning.
Scared, happy, worried, unsure, hopeful, wanting good things. Where do I start and how can I help without being the co-dependant enabler that I was?

((trs24)) - Welcome to SR, though sorry for what you have been through. Though this forum is a great place to start, I highly recommend reading the one that is full of friends & family members of substance abusers: Friends and Family of Substance Abusers - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information
You are not alone, and you certainly aren't the first parent to go through this. Sad fact, but the GOOD news is the more we learn from each other, the better we do.
Oh yeah...highly recommend reading the book "Codependent No More" by Melody Beattie. It's helped a ton of us here.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy
