Hold My Hand
It will be a week tomorrow since I got out of detox and I've been doing a lot of thinking and reflecting on what I need to do this time around to stay sober. I was also thinking about all of the amazing support I have received here ever since I joined. As I was sitting here doing all this thinking, the song "Hold My Hand" by Hootie and the Blowfish came on the radio and as I was listening to it, I got a whole new meaning out of it.
The song really made me think about what all of us are doing for each other here. We gain strength from each other, we are here for each other, there is no judgment, no condemnation ... only love, concern, and support. I think I will start listening to it whenever I'm feeling low ... it will remind me of all of you, how we all share the same struggles and hardships, and how we all hold each other up. This is such an amazing group of people. I don't know what I'd do without you.

I understand exactly what you mean ds. This place is incredible, I've been more open and honest when sharing my life on here than I ever have in the real world. The anonymity helps of course, but it's also the fact that there is only love and genuine concern given back in return.
