Has anybody read Allen Carr's Easyway books? They're quite radical and very different to AA 12 steps (in fact he actively criticises AA methods) - although he does make it sound a bit too easy. What's your view?

Hi, gingerhero. I am a fan of Easy Way, it was one of the first books I read about alcohol and it helped me put the abstainer's spin on the idea of ever drinking again. I recommend it.

Someone showed me how to search a website for a topic using google - it is easy and really helpful to get a very quick answer to some types of questions. In the search box, type site:soberrecovery.com carr, to find the mentions of 'carr' on SR. It will get you started on an answer to your question.

I suggest you read it, it's easy to find, and add your opinion.

I think it's just as easy as he makes it seem.
As long as you follow all of the rules and believe/internalize the three central messages of the book, you're set.

The central message I am holding onto is that we are not fundamentally defective, sick, or powerless. I believe these things to be true. And I find these concepts to be very helpful.
