Warning: Entering uncharted territory!

Good morning day 5! You look lovely, I look like hell....but that's okay. Eyes are puffy, rocking a slight cough, pure exhaustion stamped all over my face. Still some difficulty getting to sleep but actually sleep well once I get there. I am sure that will get better. Getting used to mornings being the easiest part of the day. So many new things. The house is a wreck and that would usually undo me on a hungover morning, but today it just really doesn't matter. Kids don't care and, strangely, neither do I at the moment.

Alright, enough of a ramble. Off to get day 5 started. I've not made it to day 6 in over 4 years. Feel hopeful and more peaceful about it this time around. Don't get me wrong, I am still scared out of my mind, but there's also hope in there somewhere and that's new so I'll take it!!

Good to hear, SW. I couldn't walk at Day 5. And I can only imagine with kids underfoot that the challenges are many.

You speak with a very positive tone, and that's impressive.

Any idea how to get to Day 555? got any program? Support? Others to confide in?

Hanging around SR sure has kept many a person sober.

Good luck

Mornings without hangovers are very positive for me. Evenings are tough. This is actually the first time that I have had some support. A few friends and a beginner's meeting to attend tomorrow night and SR, of course. I am going with the roller coaster of emotions. Right now it's positive. More positive than when I was trying to hide throwing up in the mornings. Ugh.

Thanks for checking in :-)

Well done on reaching day 5. You're on a great path and sound very positive. Life really does get better and better without alcohol. Hang in there :-)

try to focus on this moment. don't think about the day or the number. just the now. enjoy those kids, get out a game and play. be in the now with the children. relive some of your childhood with them.....

Have a beautifully sober day today!

Love & hugs,

You're going through the hard days right now. The exhaustion can knock you to your knees. Still not as bad as a hangover!! Hang in there-you're off to a good start

Good stuff, nothing much for me to add that hasnt been said.

Your doing great, just focus on today. There are two days which we can not get caught up in yesterday for it is gone.. And not even god can change that . And tomorrow is out of our immediate control ..

I'm glad Day 5 is going well, and I hope Day 6 is even better.
