No meeting, am I lost?
Day 2. Went to a meeting that was in the schedule I got at a meeting yesterday. I felt good and positive as I walked over. When I got there, nobody was there. Very discouraging. I felt lost in more ways then one. I walked around to check the other rooms with no luck. So, I sent a message to someone I met yesterday and felt I could connect with just to check in. I guess SR is my meeting today. Thank you for being here.

Hello,
I know how you feel - I am lost and alone in Asia and this forum has been a great way to keep my mind focused on sobriety.
You're taking the right steps, and it's a shame that the meeting fell through. That is quite an unusual occurrence, but don't be discouraged.
Do you want to talk? I'm free for a while. Are you totally new to recovery or have you attempted to recover previously? The first few days are always the hardest. Talk to me if you want, i'll be your meeting

I think I got out a lot of what I was thinking in my earlier post. I went to a women's meeting wanting to see how it might be different. I work in a downtown area, so there are many meetings I could try out, this one was just a few blocks from the office.
I've *tried* to quit once before, but didn't make it very far before I was thinking I could do moderation management.
Today is my wedding anniversary. I am thinking the best gift I can give my marriage is being sober today.
Need to get back to work. Have been spending more time reading here than getting stuff done so I had better get to it before the day is done.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity MightyMung!

Well Happy Anniversary
Indeed I agree and think though the best thing you can give yourself the gift of sobriety and the marrige gets to collect all the rewards.
