Even though I haven't posted in awhile, I'd like to thank all of you—this forum has been a tremendous help.
So here are a few things I've done sober for the first time over the past month, all of which have sparked bouts of heavy drinking in the past:
A wedding
Band practice
Dinner at a yuppie BBQ with absolutely gorgeous artisanal bourbon-based cocktails.
Fight with wife
A fairly sodden (for everyone else) work retreat
So far, so good. I don't really miss drinking, which is bizarre. I know I will be tested and that this sobriety rush will end (as all rushes do), but for now, all good. Thanks to you all for being there.
