Spoke to my hubby about it...
Hubby just came home. We spoke about it. I talked about the tremors, he realizes he has them. He needs us to go for spiritual "me" time. He is a God fearing man. I told him my fears about his health and what could happen since he is having tremors and he let me know he has spoken to a friend of his that happens to be a family practice doctor. They will be meeting Sunday to visit about his issue and health. Good step?
Yes and no. That will not help him now, unless he is planning on ingesting alcohol
until he meets with that person Sunday.
Again, remind him of the 911 number. If he continues to abstain tonight and
tomorrow he won't feel much like going anywhere or doing anything but lying in
bed and drinking lots of water and maybe gatorade as he won't be keeping much
else down.
Remind him that detoxing alone is deadly.
Then leave on your trip with the children. He is an adult.
Being the way I am and what I have been doing these past 31+ years, (sponsoring
others in both AA and Alanon) I take what he has said with some very large
'grains of salt.' I do believe it is 'lip service' to appease you.

Love and hugs,
ps: I do believe he will drink while y'all are gone. If indeed he had
'talked to his doctor friend, his 'friend' would have told him to NOT
try and detox alone, and he made no mention of that. I'm not sure
what he said to his 'friend' but it was no where near what he should
have said to that friend.

I guess time will tell. All I know is he's currently being more open about how much he drinks when I'm not around and when and where than I've ever heard him admit in the years I've worried about the problem. I pray for genuineness.
I hope he will want to go there. I mentioned yesterday morning he needed help. I hope it's not just the doc he will be looking to for that much needed help. I plan on letting him know I will be attending alanon for myself and will hope for himself and his family he will do the same.
Time will tell, Katchie! Take good care of yourself, and watch his actions, don't listen to his words.
I'm glad that he has at least agreed to go to the doctor, but I wouldn't hold my breath until it actually happens. Please do not hesitate to call 9-1-1 if needed
