Need Rehab Options for Mother
Hi,
I'm a 31 year old living in LA and my wife and I are trying to find rehab options for our mother who is an alcoholic.
She is currently living overseas and we would like to bring her in LA and get her into a program.
Any suggestions on the route we should take? She has no insurance obviously and we want to get her into the best place we can. What are the best places? Do the best places ever offer discounted services?
Any advice would be helpful.

Hi and welcome ppants
so your mother is ok with the idea?
It was a little unclear to me...I only ask because she needs to see it as a solution herself, not just go along with it for you and your sisters sake.
I have no personal knowledge to share - but this is a good place to start
Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator
you can focus on LA and every entry will have a brief description, contact details etc

I am not in LA but Cleveland but lived in San Fran for years. Check out those liks Dee gave you and also a great thing to do is call the AA office and explain what your looking for. They can really point you in some good directions.
There are many great places that will take her in, even if you dont have the ability to pay.
Keep us posted.

Yeah, I agree, your mother needs to make this decision herself, and preferably find a place where she wants to go to heal.
Have you and your sister considered AlAnon as a support group for yourselves?

I agree with everyone else. She needs to want to come to LA and get help. Also, is she a US citizen? I'm not sure what services are available to someone who isn't. If she is not, it may be better to seek services where she is a citizen. But, of course, I have no idea her situation so I can only ask questions!
