For today my feet our on the way...
Good afternoon,
I was thinking this morning and meditating on trying to make sure my feet stay on the path of sobriety. I really dont want to slip again. It is just so hard to come back. So today I was glad I was remembering the last time. I had 7 months and all was just feeling great, a little to great. I got lazy in my program and all got to well to fast.
So with todays thought of sobriety , fellowship , service, and faith in my HP. I can stay on that right side of the beam. The first and greatest of importance of course is my sobriety. The other are built on that very foundation. For I would never have those fun and reward other things without having sobriety. I always would loose them, if I choose to pick up and try to have both worlds. And it always ended in utter failure. So today I work on staying sober, and stay in the rooms to help others get or stay sober.
Enjoy your day.
Smile cause sobriety looks good on you. !!!!
Good love, Inda

Similar to my story. I got to 5 months last time, got complacent, didn't visit this site as regularly and then forgot what being an alcoholic was like. It's funny after 5 months how you only remember the good times you had when you drank (Which by that time were few and far between).
Like you, I will not make the same mistake. I like being sober and I don't want to go through this again, it's not fair on me or my family to keep doing this again and again!
Keep the focus and let's never forget how sh*t life is as an alcoholic!

Amen to that Julynine
We alkies are such quick forgetters. It is amazing how when remember and glorify the good fun times. And like you they became to far apart in the final years. The day to day effort just to get that drink in my body to finally feel "normal". Yuk huh, this way is truly the
easier softer way.
