It's not worth it anymore

So, I started to drink again and try to control it. It was going on for about 3 weeks and one Sunday night, I wanted to go crazy with a couple of friends. Well, one night of crazy drinking went on for 4 days. I've been sober for about 5 days now and free better.

From looking back to those days of control drinking didn't made me free more happy or enhance my lifestyle. I just force something that it was not me in the first. I didn't really drink before I had a binge problem but now I'm looking forward to be a none drinker. Some people are just not drinkers and I'm one of them.

So, I'm truly glad that I did do these 3 weeks of control drinking follow by 4 day bender. I feel more happy want my life for now on as a non drinker.

That's it. :-)

Well, at least you got it out of your system!
I have been having thoughts about 'normal drinking'... I'm just too darn scared to even try a sniff, let alone a sip. Dangerous slippery slope even for the most determind. Also, I have damaged my liver, so it would be just ridiculous to even contemplate it.

I admire you for coming back with honesty x

So pleased to see you back Action. A valuable lesson learned by the sound of it.
Are you going to make changes to the way you were doing things now?
When I had my relapse, it changed my thinking big time. Total acceptance that I'm an alcoholic, and won't get better without help and support xx

You should know by now, AP, there are three types of drinkers:
1. Drunks
2. Normal Not-Drunks
3. Drunks-in-recovery

I've never met the person that can go from:
1 to 3 to 2
or
1 to 2
#2 can only come first, never last.

I don't believe it's ever "out of our system".

I mean the drink and/or the insane thinking.

All the best.

I still dont really know what is NORMAL drinking? Is it really normal to push poison down our throats in any amount or degree

Normal is a cycle on a washing machine. Alcohol is poison. Pretty good assessments from a left handed blonde! AP - you can do this. Make a commitment and a plan that is action packed and follow it. Prayers for success and serenity for you.

Totally relate to the 'it's not worth it.' My epiphany didn't come from finding a higher power or a 'rock bottom,' it was just another stupid 3 day drunk that came from just 'having a couple of beers while playing video games.'
Just NOT worth it. Ever. End of story.

Glad you're back and learned something!

What did you learn from that four day bender, from the weeks of "controlled drinking"?

I didn't want to be those people who can't drink. But when I was drinking and controlling it, I didn't get much out of it. Coke Zero taste so much better than beer or hard liquor drinks.

I would rather be healthy, fit and in get shape than getting a quick buzz/drunk feeling!
